per new study Singh et al. 2018 (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-018-33714-2); the average amount of haplogroup L in India is estimated at about 15-16% while higher in southern and western/northern areas and lower in eastern and northeastern areas.
some minor corrections on distribution, adding parts of East/ Southeast Asia in the 1 - 5 % group. (references are found on the main article of haplogroup L-M20)
